Lifting and mechanical handling are routine operations performed daily on both offshore and onshore drilling units. Without effective management control, these activities possess the potential to inflict significant harm and damage. The IADC Lifting & Mechanical Handling Conference & Exhibition demonstrates that the inherent systems of management control, training and equipment design have benefited from past experience. That improvement is a continuous learning process of open dialogue and a willingness to share best practice.
