Pasadena Bead and Design Show, California’s most innovative bead & design event, is known for its unrivaled exhibitor list and for having the most exciting names in artisan bead making and contemporary design. The show highlights include 300 artisan booths, galleries, merchant displays, design performances, and workshops.
It is a beautiful place to shop a huge selection of contemporary beads, as well as one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, artistic clothing, handmade accessories, antiquities, and unusual items such as hand-dyed silks, felted hats, nomadic articles, antique textiles, tribal beads, collectible silver, Australian opals, rare kilims, Egyptian scarabs, champlevé enamel, and vintage Bohemian beads.
The exhibitor list which includes artists, artisans, beadmakers, workshop teachers, established bead merchants, and international dealers, sets the show apart from other events, because each exhibitor is chosen by juried application and by invitation.
During the four-day event, attendees may visit numerous bead displays and buy directly from bead merchants –handmade, artistic, vintage, and antique beads; crystal, stone, and handcut gemstone beads; fabric, clay, shell, and resin beads; kiln-fired, torch and lampworked glass beads; gold, silver, and brass beads; scarab, venetian, tribal, ethnographic, antique amber, ancient Roman intaglio, and African trade beads.
The bead selection alone makes Pasadena Bead and Design Show the event that bead shop owners and bead lovers can’t afford to miss –every aisle has something for everyone. It’s also true that attendees come from across the US and twenty-two foreign countries to shop for not only beads, but as well for jewelry, clothing, hats, textiles, accessories, wearable art, and interior décor.
