The Australian Federation of Travel Agents, popularly known as AFTA, is the premier association of Australian travel agents. It was established in the year 1957 and its main office is located in Sydney, Australia. It is presently running under the leadership of its Chairman Mr. Mike Thompson and the chief objective of this organization is to promote and bring about developments in the travel and tourism industry of Australia and to look after the interests and concerns of the travel agents who form an integral part of the industry. Apart from this, it also helps the retail travel sector across the nation in a number of ways. Working towards achieving its goals, it organizes a host of highly successful and interactive events like its flagship annual show, the "National Travel Industry Awards" and "Travel Agents Scholarship" etc.
