The American Meat Institute is popularly known as AMI; this non-profit trade association was founded in 1906 to set federal food processing standard in practice and was initially known as American Meat Packers Association. Presently, the managing committee is made of Chairman Dennis Vignieri, Board of 70-member Directors, and an Executive Committee of 25 persons. Advisory committee provides advice to policy and executive committee. In order to showcase and ventilate the decisions, amendments, new technologies and developments in meat industry AMI organizes and sponsors annual conference, award programs, topical workshops, and a yearly mega tradeshow. Each of the event organized by AMI is a unique opportunity to learn new developments and advancements introduced in industry. The annual event named as Meat, Poultry and Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition is one of the biggest trade expos in its category in this region.
