As part of Sri Lanka's gemstone and jewellery industry's strategy to develop value added products in Sri Lanka as well as offering a range of services which will make Sri Lanka a hub for gemstones and jewellery in the region, the industry plans to consolidate its presence on the Internet through developing a state-of-the-art web portal for the jewellery, gemstone and diamond industry in Sri Lanka. The portal will cater to trade buyers and consumers and will promote gemstones and jewellery from Sri Lanka and enable e-commerce between visitors to the site and the jewellery and gemstone companies represented. The site, and all services, is clearly segmented between B2B and B2C through password protection.
